Kennedy Faces Backlash Ahead of Senate Hearing
During the Senate confirmation hearing Kennedy faces the test to prove that his disputed views and policies align with modern public health leadership standards.

United States: Nearly eighty organizations submitted testimony opposing Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s proposed leadership of their agency ahead of the Senate confirmation hearing next week. He will face questioning about his skeptical opinions on vaccines, as reported by Reuters.
Broad Opposition Ahead of Senate Hearing
Consumer group Public Citizen, together with healthcare coverage advocacy group Protect Our Care, plan to send a letter to all 100 Senators on Friday requesting their public declarations against Kennedy’s appointment. Nearly 90 non-governmental organizations signed onto a statement prepared by Public Citizen and Protect Our Care before they planned to deliver it on Friday to every single member of the Senate.
“If Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. takes command of the Department of Health and Human Services, we will face lies and disinformation at an unprecedented scale that are capable of unwinding a century of progress on fighting disease and promoting public health,” the letter, seen by Reuters, said.
‼️ “Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination for health and human services secretary has stalled as Senate Democrats and Republicans take issue with his views.”👀

Political Divide on the Nomination
In November, President Donald Trump declared his appointment of Kennedy to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy officially. Kennedy will attend Senate hearings to answer questions regarding his nomination on Wednesday.
A large bloc of opposition forms through his anti-vaccine stance while religious conservatives led by former Vice President Mike Pence object to his abortion-rights support.
Official spokespeople representing Kennedy and the White House avoided responding to the requests for comment.
The Republican senators hold a narrow three-seat majority in the Senate thereby seeking unified support for Kennedy since no domestic objections have emerged within their ranks.
Kennedy’s Controversial Stances Under Scrutiny
Over many years Kennedy contributed to disagreements about vaccine effectiveness and safety while these medical tools maintained epidemic control and saved numerous lives. Kennedy rejects being labeled an anti-vaccine activist and has made clear his support for Americans who decide to receive vaccinations.
The leader of Children’s Health Defense under Kennedy claims vaccines neither protect nor ensure the safety of people during his award-winning conversation with Lex Fridman in early 2023, as reported by Reuters.
Kennedy announced that his priorities as head of the FDA would include eliminating chronic diseases while separating pharmaceutical corporation connections from FDA personnel and instructing water system managers to eliminate fluoride particles.
