United States – A key group supporting Kamala Harris’ campaign lifted four times the amount of money in July compared to the Trump campaign, as per the reports submitted to the federation on Tuesday evening, a positive signal before the presidential poll scheduled for November 5, as reported by Reuters.
Harris Campaign Raises Significantly More Funds
The Save America campaign committee, run by the Democrats’ Vice President Harris, said that it received $204 million in September, while the principal fundraising committee of the Republican former president Trump disclosed only $48 million to the Federal Election Commission.
Harris’ totals cover money gathered in the month before she declared her bid for the presidency on July 21, when Biden conceded his flagging bid for the nomination. Biden supported her, especially since Harris took the mantle of running Biden’s fundraising committee. The documents reveal that the group was able to unbundle over $60 million within the first three days of Harris’s campaigning.
Harris Campaign Outspends Trump in July
Harris also donated more than Trump during the month, $81 million to $24 million, this is according to their FEC reports.
The Harris campaign had also declared that the campaign and the Democratic Party’s main fundraising body had collectively collected about $310 million in July, at the same time the Trump campaign had stated that they, as well as the Republican Party, had collectively mopped up about $138 million.
This is when the actual and potential allies accord their efforts into a single ground while the amounts raised for the campaigns are significant because while the candidates and parties are united, the campaigns by law are given steep cut-rate prices for their television advertising time but the parties multiples and other allied groups for their expenditures have to buy on the level.
Super PACs Play Key Roles in Fundraising Efforts
Trump’s own re-election campaign also benefited last month from another $50m donation from conservative billionaire Timothy Mellon to another super PAC, MAGA Inc. Karolyne Mellons, the Mellon banking heir from Pittsburgh, has got to be MAGA Inc’s biggest contributor this year with at least $115 million. The super PAC is among the top donors in the elections and declared that it spent more than $43 million in the month of July to support Trump’s bid for the presidency, as reported by Reuters.
Large contributions also went to a leading super PAC supporting Harris, called Future Forward PAC, with Stad contributing $5m shortly after Harris declared her candidacy.
