DEA Raids Colorado Nightclub, Arrests 114 Illegal Immigrants
United States: The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration declared Sunday they executed a Colorado Springs nightclub raid where federal law enforcement agents detained more than one hundred illegal immigrants, as reported by Reuters.
WHY IT’S IMPORTANT
Since Donald Trump became president on January 20, the raid has been one of the largest based on the number of arrests. Under his presidency, Donald Trump pledged to remove every immigrant living without legal authorization in the United States and set this policy as one of his central priorities.
BY THE NUMBERS
The DEA orchestrated the arrests of 114 people who were sent to buses for deportation procedures. According to the statement, the nightclub contained over 200 people, while 114 of its occupants held no legal status in the United States.
KEY QUOTES
“This morning (DEA) apprehended over 100 illegal aliens at an underground night club frequented by Tda and MS-13 terrorists. Cocaine, meth, and pink cocaine were seized. 2 people were also arrested on existing warrants,” U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said on X.

The social media post from Bondi failed to specify whether any of those arrested belonged to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua and the Salvadoran gang MS-13.
The DEA separately said that “occupants of the illegal underground nightclub in Colorado Springs were given multiple warnings to come out.”
CONTEXT
The enforcement efforts of U.S. agencies have increased since President Trump became the leader of the country, as reported by Reuters.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced through a statement the previous day that its Florida-based workforce, together with state officials, apprehended almost 800 people without immigration documentation as part of a “massive, multi-agency immigration enforcement crackdown.”
