United States: On Christmas Day evening, a taxi with a driver having a health problem crashed into color, and seven people were injured in New York City outside the Macy’s department store, as reported by Reuters.

Details of the Injured

The event happened in Mid Manhattan, in the vicinity of Macy’s department store in Herald Square, near 34th Street, and on Avenue of the Americas or 6th Avenue crossroad. The store’s façade is opulent and features ornate windows ideal for shop window viewing. The store attracts tourists and New Yorkers during the holiday season.

They pointed out that the 58-year-old taxi driver and an unidentified male, three females – a 49-year-old woman, a three other women, aged 9, 19, 37 and 41 – were injured in the attack.

Five people were hurt the most of whom were a 49-year-old woman with a leg injury a 9-year-old boy who had a cut and a 41-year-old woman who had head injury were rushed to the hospital, police reported.

Wreckage Captured by Media

The remaining three pedestrians requested no medical assistance, police stated, and all the injuries were reported to be non-critical.

Various pieces of media captured images of the cab and how it was something of a wreck, with parts of it broken and impact dents all over it, as reported by Reuters.

Ongoing Investigation

According to NBC New York, the law enforcement sources said that the boy and his mother who were injured were from Australia. They also said that, to date, no charges had been preferred and that an investigation into the incident was still under way.
