Law enforcement agencies are calling on citizens to remain cautious as investigations go on regarding the increase in the incidents of threats against political leaders.

United States: Five Democratic US lawmakers from Connecticut on Thursday reported that their homes received bomb threats, but no explosives were detected through social media and local sources.
Connecticut Representatives Receive Threats
Several U.S. representatives, namely Jim Hines, Jahana Hayes, John Larsen, and Joe Courtney from Connecticut state, disclosed the threats on Thanksgiving Day, as reported by Reuters.
“There is no place for political violence in this country, and I hope that we may all continue through the holiday season with peace and civility,” said Himes.
Hayes said that on Thanksgiving morning, the police informed him they had been provided an e-mail claiming that there was a pipe bomb in the mailbox of my home and that no bombs or explosives were retrieved, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Senator Chris Murphy Among Targets
Other local information outlets in Connecticut stated that the Democrat U.S. Senator Chris Murphy was also on the list. The U.S. Capitol Police has not yet reacted to this by responding to a comment request.
Some of the targets included several of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet and administration picks also received bomb threats and “swatting” this week.
Political Figures and “Swatting” Incidents
Swatting is when an individual calls the police to a particular address to have probably armed officers respond with a large probable force. Cops regard it as a kind of threat or bullying that is gaining popularity as a tool to punish or threaten public figures, as reported by Reuters.
Trump transition team officials said on Wednesday that the threats were made on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
